Important Up-Date: Change of Venue and Date for the Women Making Airwaves for Peace Seminar WMAP in conjunction with the Asia Pacific NGO Forum on Beijing+15 in ManilaWMAP was originally planned in conjunction with the AMARC Asia Pacific conference to provide women the possibility to participate in both events. As you may have learned, the 2nd regional conference of AMARC Asia Pacific was moved from October 2009 to February 20101. However, another exciting event will take place in October, which is the Asia Pacific NGO Forum on Beijing+15 from October 22-24, 2009 in Manila, Philippines. Given the new situation, Isis International decided to move the date and venue of the WMAP seminar to October 16-20, 2009 at the Isis House in Manila, Philippines. This provides the participants the opportunity to attend Asia Pacific NGO Forum on Beijing+15 on October 22-24, 2009 also in Manila. Participation in the forum will also enable women to practice the knowledge gained from the WMAP by reporting the discussions and events at the Forum to their respective community radio station(s). Regrettably, Isis will not be able to sponsor participation in the AP NGO Forum. For more information on the NGO-Forum please visit http://apww.isiswomen.orgTwo (2) WMAP Seminars October 2009 and February 2010Isis received almost 80 applications for the WMAP seminar. Deadline was July 12, 2009. Most applications came from Southeast Asia and South Asia. Since only a maximum of 30 participants can be accommodated in one WMAP seminar, Isis International decided to hold two WMAP seminars, provided we find the necessary funds for the second WMAP:
